The bottom of the barrel.
- Homestuck

Reimu and Marisa recolored to look like the Homestuck characters, with a Prospit and Derse dreamer outfits theme.
No specific explanation as to why I used modern sprites rather than retro sprites.
In addition to that, I've made a Cirno sprite looking like John Egbert in reference to the song Heir Conditioning, which samples her music theme.
- OneShot

Chen recolored as Niko from OneShot.
- Splatoon

Utsuho Reiuji recolored as Frye Onaga from Splatoon 3 (because Frye's Japanese name is ウツホ Utsuho).
Left is a galaxy texture variant (like the original sprite), right is an Onaga family crest version.
- Stardew Valley

A bunch of Cirnos based on the Crop Fairy (leftmost) and the eight randomized Fairy Box trinket companions.
- Vocaloid

The opposite of a backport. Reisen's alternate palettes in the retro fighters are based on Vocaloid characters, so I decided to recreate them in the style of the modern fighters. Some liberties were taken as I looked through several pieces of official Vocaloid artwork for each character, and the designs must have changed at least a bit between 2008 and 2016.
From left to right, the characters are Rin Kagamine (or Len, they're the same), Luka Megurine, MEIKO, KAITO, Gakupo Kamui and GUMI.
September 2024 update: I went back and looked at the alleged Miku palette from modern fighters. And... I thought it looked a bit too green, so, I've made a simple edit of it (rightmost sprite). The green is now closer to teal, and the shirt and tie clip feature Miku's iconic deep magenta accents. I still love the original palette, though!
